Top Tips for Hosting a Memorable Corporate Golf Day
Golf is considered one of the most important tools in Corporate Entertaining.
10 Top Tips for Holding Greener Meetings
1. Save Paper. Using new media and electronic technology can cut down your paper use.
Golf is still considered one of the most important marketing tools for UK companies, whilst spring time in the UK traditionally sees the start of the Corporate Golf Day season.
However, what Benefit do these companies get from hosting a Corporate Golf Day, after all, you probably want to get a return on your investment of time, effort and money? Here are our top 6 Benefis to hosting a memorable and successful Corporate Golf Day:
1 – Quality time with clients. When else would you get the opportunity to spend valuable time with your existing and prospective clients? At other times of the year, you might only be granted a brief meeting with your clients, however attending a corporate golf day allows you several hours in a relaxed environment to strengthen your relationship with existing clients and the opportunity to convert prospective clients into actual clients. Word of warning though – Don’t overdo the Sales pitch!
2 – Professionalism. By making sure your golf day is run professionally, this re-enforces the service and quality levels of your brand, especially to prospective clients.
3 – Distinguish your company from your competition. Do they thank their existing clients in such a way? Is their golf day as memorable as yours? Make sure that your golf day is the one that your clients and prospective clients want to attend .
4 – Brand exposure and awareness. This is an invaluable opportunity to establish your brands position in the market place. This can be achieved through on course branding (pop-up banners on the golf course and across the grounds), promotional merchandise (golf balls, clothing etc), industry press releases (results announced with a brief report of the day) and company newsletters.
5 – Social Media exposure. Can you put a price on the exposure your brand receives through targeted social media exposure in the lead up to the golf day? Consider setting up a Facebook page, a Twitter profile and a company Blog where invited participants can follow the most recent progress in your preparations. Participants could see who has registered to attend and can contribute to the pages.
6 – Thanking your clients / Client recognition. Corporate Golf days are seen as an important tool in thanking existing clients for their loyalty and business. In a previous occupation, a competitor failed to win one of my clients because amongst other things, they did not hold a corporate golf day for their clients.
Identifying the benefits is one thing, being able to host a memorable Corporate Golf day is another. For useful tips on how to Host a Memorable Golf day, please read here. Fore!
